Dog Bite Reported In East Wenatchee

Animal Care & Control received a report of a woman being bit by a dog on the Apple Capital Loop Trail, near the 19th Street NW parking lot in E. Wenatchee, yesterday, March 29, 2020, at approximately 2:56 p.m.

A woman reported seeing a tan/orange Chihuahua-type dog, which appeared to be injured and running loose. The reporting party stated the dog had scrape marks on its head that were bleeding, and a small amount of blood coming from its mouth area. The woman said she attempted to contain the dog and read the tags it was wearing, when it bit her. She stated she was able to read the name “Jack” on the dog’s tag.

The dog then reportedly ran towards the 19th Street NW parking lot and the woman followed. She stated that when she caught up to the dog, it was being held by a blonde/brown haired, heavier set, Caucasian woman in her late 30s/early 40s. The reporting party stated the woman holding the dog told her the dog jumped from her car window while she was driving. The woman holding the dog then fled the scene, with the dog. The reporting party was unable to get any contact information from the woman.

If you have any possible information to help identify the dog or its owner, please contact Animal Care & Control at 509-662-9577, option 1.
