Join our family of volunteers
& lend a helping paw!

You can help our animal friends by:

  • Dog Walking, Play Time & Exercise
Walking or playing with dogs in the large outside runs during regular business hours. They love to get outside and stretch their legs and unwind! We need dog walkers for Parades in the spring/summer too!
  • Animal Care
Bathing, brushing, grooming, nail clipping, etc adoptable dogs & cats. The better they look - the happier they are and the faster they get adopted!
  • Cleaning Dog & Cat Kennels
Daily 365 days a year starting at 7 am for you active early birds! A great workout too!
  • Foster Parent Program
Taking care of underage puppies & kittens until they are mature enough to be made available for adoption. Give them lots of love, training and spoil them rotten! They are too cute and lovable! We are always in need of foster homes. Pets in foster homes must be spayed/neutered and current on all vaccinations. If you are already a volunteer and interested in fostering, email Karen Headlee or call her at (509) 662-9577 to get started.
  • Office & Mailings Support
Sorting & filing paperwork. Assist labeling mailings and newsletters.
  • Fundraising
Staffing, set-up & tear down at events or soliciting donations or financial support for our major fundraising events. Volunteers are what make these events successful and we have loads of fun along the way making new friends!
  • Offsite Adoptions at PETCO & Events
We need multiple volunteers willing to care & help adopt dogs & cats at Petco, offsite events, Humane Society booth at shows and at our major fundraising events. After all, it is about caring and finding forever homes for all the animals!
  • Club Pet Boarding Facility
Kennel & office support. A great place to volunteer! Proceeds benefit the animals & programs at the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. If it is difficult for you to work with the orphaned animals at the shelter, Club Pet is a great way that you can support them and at the same time give owned pets lots of love and attention while they are on vacation! Everyone wins!
  • Animal Control Reserve Program
Shadow an Animal Control Officer as they respond to calls. Limited space available with special requirements, must be 21 years of age. This is a great way to explore your interests in this field while helping to protect and educate our community and making it a better place for people & animals.
  • Maintenance & Grounds Work
Gardening, yard work or special projects at the shelter repairing the old or installing/building the new - we are always growing! Handy people welcome!
  • Internet Photography
Looking for models to hold/pose adoptable dogs & cats for posting on the Internet. Always a hoot and a great way to get to know the animals!
  • School Community Service
Complete your school community service hours at the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. Call (509) 662-9577 or email Karen Headlee to set up a time you can come and enjoy the animals! Don't procrastinate - limited daily space so plan ahead.
