Help WVHS Build a New Animal Shelter by Making a Gift to the Capital Campaign Today!
The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society currently operates in a 7,525 square foot facility, built in 1976. The structure has serious limitations and space constraints. Although several modifications have been made, thirty-five years of hard use with an expanding animal population have caused the building to deteriorate beyond further repair. The kennels are loud and stressful, many are broken, the water and drain systems are no longer serviceable. Inadequate heat, air conditioning and ventilation create challenges for the safety and health of the animals, staff and visitors. Administration offices are currently housed in a temporary modular unit behind the shelter building. To compensate for a lack of storage, four portable sheds are currently used for animal food, outreach and marketing supplies.
The new facility will be over 13,000 square feet and will be specifically designed to facilitate the care and adoption of the animals in a safe, healthy and humane environment. Incoming, newly surrendered, lost, abandoned and injured animals needing care will be segregated from animals available for adoption. Our goal is to provide a brighter, friendlier atmosphere for pets and visitors.
Please join the donors who have, as of December 7, 2012, contributed $1.25 million toward our $3 million goal. Your tax-deductible gift is critical at this time for WVHS to complete the Capital Campaign by the end of 2013.
