For those interested in volunteering, the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society has Orientations each month. Please note that the WVHS has a separate program for those in need of Community Service Hours for either court or school. These programs do not require an initial orientation. The Orientations provide information about what we do here at the WVHS, the ways that Volunteers can help and a tour of the facility and usually last about 45 minutes. There will be no animal handling at this time. In order to give all attendees a great experience, space is limited for each orientation. A list of Orientation Dates & Times and Sign-Up sheets for each will be available in the front office. Those who are interested in volunteering should contact the front office either by phone at 509-662-9577, option 2, or come in person to sign up for an orientation.

Please plan on arriving 5-10 minutes early to check in for your Orientation. We all have busy schedules and in order to keep them on track, Orientations will begin on time. A lot of information is given in a short period of time, therefore, those who arrive after Orientation begins will be asked to sign up for another Orientation date.

Occasionally a full Orientation does not have full attendance. Those who would like to try to attend an earlier Orientation date are welcome to come as a Stand-By. If there is last minute space available for an Orientation (no shows), stand-by attendees are welcome to stay on a first come, first serve basis. However, if the Orientation is full and all attendees are present, those on stand-by will be sent home.

Applications will be available for attendees to take home after the Orientation is complete.

If you have any additional questions, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 509-662-9577 (ext. 404) or volunteer@wenatcheehumane.org
