The following are some of the basic animal control ordinances for the Town of Waterville:
Pet owners are required to provide animals with necessary food, water, shelter, sanitation, space and medical attention if needed.
Leash law applies when off your own property in Town Limits. Note: streets and sidewalks are public property.
Barking and whining habitually throughout the night five minutes or more between the hours of 10pm and 7am is not allowed. The Humane Society Animal Control Officers handle these calls.
Licensing your dog is required annually at age 4 months and up. February 28th is the deadline if the animal has been previously licensed in the Town of Waterville. Licenses are obtained at the Waterville Town Hall.
Rabies vaccinations for all animals must be kept current.
School grounds are off limits to dogs at all times.
Note: The Town of Waterville allows a maximum of 3 dogs per household. There is no kennel registration.
